For me, it's been a real step up since I got Exede Broadband (formerly Wildblue) back in 2006. I work from home in a rural area and had to use dial-up. But getting Exede Broadband totally changed the way I work because I don't have wait times and I'm able to get updates downloaded when they're released. That has proved invaluable for keeping my operating system updated with the latest fixes and patches when they are released.

Also, where I live, we get strong storms at times and lately it seems that even a strong breeze can knock out power. But instead of being another problem for me at those times, Exede Broadband has so far worked perfectly so long as I'm on my generator for back-up power. We aren't the first to get power back when it does get restored but I have had internet when others haven't. That meant I had important information when we needed it.

We live in a heavily wooded area in the foothills and so far the choices were dial-up or satellite. I'm a full-time therapist and I have my own blog that needs updating on a daily basis. I also like to keep up with my extended family online. So mn internet speed can't be slow – too much of my life revolves around it. Dial-up is really slow and it hinders the amount I can get done, not to mention, I feel like I'm missing out. I love Exede Broadband satellite internet. If you can't get broadband cable, this is the way to go. A lot of people do not have cable available but you don't have to suffer through dial-up if you can get Exede Broadband. Totally worth it.
